Alma Rizo Patron was born in Lima, Perü and moved to London in 1968 to immerse herself in that revolutionary cultural moment. She was only 19. She found painting was her way to express herself and connect with the world. So working prolifically for the last 50 years, Alma has mastered her craft and built a huge body of work. Painting from creative necessity, she has never felt the need to exhibit. Untainted by art world pressures, she has had a freedom to develop her unique and instantly identifiable painting style. Painting from her imagination she recreates surreal memories of friends, family, and magical places in confident brush strokes and a colour palette heavily influenced by her Peruvian heritage.
